Heed those voices banished to flame and darkness, Dear Reader, and relish their physical form. Drink deeply of the songs of the past, whose din aches across the burial-trenches of our digital present.

The Common Place is a reading module and rules-light game which offers tips and rewards for slowing down and fostering a deeper relationship with one's books. The reader takes on the persona of a library worker who scours the fractured earth in search of lost books in need of translation or rewriting, in order to be preserved for posterity. The fictional narrative collides with real-life action as the reader scours local libraries and personal shelves for books to be summarized or examined in a "commonplace book."
